OVERVIEW

Astro Pop Events is seeking new talent for its annual production of Elvis' Birthday Fight Club (EBFC). Now in its 15th year, EBFC mixes theater, burlesque, stage combat, and improv. The show has achieved cult-like status in DC and Baltimore, running for 4-8 performances in each city. It is gritty, silly, satirical, and uses coarse language. EBFC delivers seven blistering rounds of cartoon-like violence interspersed with Elvis-themed burlesque. Sounds fun? Come on over. Learn more at fightclubshow.com.

This is a nonunion, paid project. 

AUDITION DETAILS

Auditions will be held the evenings of August 11th and 12th.

EBFC focuses on movement and body antics. We are looking for people who move well and are willing to be silly, sexy, and self deprecating. 

Come in comfortable clothes.  You will be taught a short dance combo, a fight combo, and will do some character work.

While not required, if you have any circus, gymnastic, or unusual talent, please share it with us.

All body types welcome; you must be able to lift at least 50lbs and be 21 or older. 

CHARACTER BREAKDOWN

EBFC is a devised production. 

There are generally between 8-10 unique fighting characters.

Performers also cover: ring folk, crew duties, back up dancers, streaking lincolns, and other add-ons throughout the show. 

Performers should be willing to go down to a speedo/bikini if the moment requires it.

DC: January 1-4 (Gala Hispanic Theater)
Baltimore: Jan 9-10 & 16-17 (Creative Alliance)
Rehearsals: Most Sundays in November and December (primary location: Dance Loft on 14th)
